Catbot, Advanced Robot Running Ability Similar Owns Cats

The development of robotic technology is now growing rapidly. Having previously existing robots that can jump, now Swiss researcher has created a robot that is capable of running. The robot was given the name Catbot .

This robot is created in a laboratory belonging to the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne. This robot also has a cat-like body structure with four legs. The researchers also deliberately designed the robot legs by taking a model from a domestic cat.

With the robot, the researchers hope to provide technological advances in biomechanics. Especially on foot design that aims to create a robot that can move more quickly. In the end, they also hope that the design of this robot can be used for rescue or exploration missions.

This robot is also claimed as the fastest robot in its class weighing less than 30 kilograms. In the tests conducted, the robot has the ability to move almost 7 times the size of his body in one second. Of course the speed is still far from the speed of a cat. But it became a separate achievement for the world of technology.

This is Here Similar Bird Robot that Can Fly with wings named Robo Raven

The world is full of robots seems to be getting close. Having previously been a robot with a cat -like shape, the other is now a robot -like animals re-introduced. The robot named Robo Raven who has a bird-like body structure.

This robot with birds similarity lies in its ability to flap its wings. The robot is equipped with two synchronous motors assigned to the wing flapping. With the motors, batteries and actuators, the robot must have a fairly heavy weight and become a problem if used to fly. However, the researchers found a solution.

The robot, developed by a team of researchers from the University of Maryland, USA is also has a light weight by using 3D printing technology. With this technology, the robot body can be made lighter with materials of the polymer.

Interestingly, these robots do not only have the ability to fly. Even this sophisticated robot can also perform such maneuvers are carried by birds . Moreover, from a distance , this robot looks like a regular bird.

OMC Develop Industrial Mixing System Using Multi-Axis Robot from Nachi

Industrial mixing system developed by the OMC, it turns out using a multi-axis robot from Nachi.

In contrast to conventional mixing systems in general that rotates the container by using a two-axis, multi-axis robot uses multi-directional and can enhance the effects of stirring, mixing (mixing) and dispersing various existing materials in a shorter time.

Mixing capacity depends on the robot are used, with a maximum capacity of about 700 kg.

And even in the future, OMC also has plans to expand the use of this system to various other industrial sectors, such as food production and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Tiny plane Puma AE Capable of Surviving Fly Over 9 Hours with the Power of Solar Cells

A small plane with the name Puma AE recently introduced by AeroVironment. Unmanned aircraft is also equipped with environmentally friendly technology thanks to the presence of solar cells as a power source.

Although the use of energy from solar cells, it turns Puma AE has the ability to fly, no less. Quoted from Gizmag, Puma AE is able to survive in the air nonstop for 9 hours and 11 minutes. The ability was 2 hours longer than the Puma AE uses standard batteries.
Solar cells on the Puma AE using gallium arsenide (GaAs), which is produced by Alta Devices. Seniior VP AeroVironment, Roy Minson said that the solar cells capable of producing power that can be used for long-haul flights.

Puma AE small plane itself is often used in intelligence operations by the U.S. military since 2008. The Company party also plans to test the ability of small unmanned aircraft to fly in the Arctic region.

Kirobo, Tiny Robot that Can Talk Soaring into Space

A tiny robot named Kirobo launched to the international space station . Robots as high as 34 centimeters and weighs 1 kilogram of these also have a high level of intelligence and ability to learn.

The launch of the robot itself is conducted on Sunday ( 04/08/2013 ) . According to the plan , the plane carrying the robot will arrive at the international space station on Friday.
This robot is the result of a collaboration between the University of Tokyo , Toyota Motor Corp. and Dentsu Inc. This robot was designed to be able to move smoothly in space and capable of operating in a zero gravity environment.

Not only that , it also has a robot voice and face recognition technology . As a complement , Kirobo is also able to speak and communicate with the astronauts . That way , the robot is also able to talk with astronauts on the space station.

Unfortunately , for the moment the robot Kirobo still not understand English . The only language understood by Kirobo is Japanese. And according to the plan , a Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata was named Kirobo will follow in November.
